Nokia announced through a press release that the popular instant messaging application WhatsApp is now available in all Asha mobile phones. Nokia starts to cater WhatsApp in their Asha platform starting with the Asha 501 series. Nokia further added that they have rolled out a software update for all Asha 501 users which allows users to download instant messaging application (IM) on their mobile handsets and then one can enjoy the WhatsApp services. All other Asha series handsets which runs on the older platform still supports WhatsApp services. Nokia offers a new one touch social sharing and a more intuitive home screen with the new software update.

WhatsApp is the popular mobile instant messaging service which has now over 350 million monthly active users. By covering the service in the devices Nokia aims to hold more percentage of the market with their widely accepted Asha series product line up.
